Tim accepts briefs in all areas of law. He has an extensive academic background. Having initially commenced practice at Minter Ellison in Melbourne after completing his LLB at the University of Melbourne, Tim emigrated to the UK where he successfully completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil), and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Cambridge.
He remained in Cambridge as a Fellow and College Lecturer in History, St Catharine's College, where his research focused on the development of modern private law, equity and equitable discretion, and the history of political and economic thought. He is the author of The Moral Economists: R H, Tawney, Karl Polanyi, E P. Thompson and the Critique of Capitalism (Princeton University Press, 2017).
In 2019 Tim returned to Australia and commenced private practice at the NSW Bar.
