Banco Chambers congratulates Peter Brereton SC on his appointment to the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He will be sworn in on 6 February 2025.
Peter was a foundation member of Banco Chambers and practised as a barrister for 27 years, having been admitted to the Bar in 1997 and appointed Silk in 2009.
As a Silk, Peter established a reputation as a trusted and experienced counsel in commercial disputes, class actions and appellate work. At Banco Chambers Peter served on the Board for many years and volunteered many hours of his time to important matters including the Readership Committee and in his contribution to Banco’s expansion to 60 Martin Place in 2020.
Peter’s appointment is recognition of his deep knowledge and expertise of the law and his sound legal and commercial judgment. We wish him well in his new career.
