James accepts briefs in all areas of law. He has a particular interest in competition and consumer law. He also has experience in class actions and regulatory investigations.
Before coming to the Bar, James was a Senior Associate in the Competition and Dispute Resolution team at Mallesons, where he specialised in competition and consumer law. Prior to this, he was an Associate in the Competition team at Slaughter and May in London, where he worked on merger control, regulatory investigations and market studies. From 2019 to 2020, he was the Associate to the Honourable Justice Besanko at the Federal Court of Australia.
James holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University Adelaide. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Competition and Consumer Law (First Class Honours) from the University of Melbourne.
