We are pleased to congratulate Kate Richardson SC, who was appointed to the Supreme Court of NSW today. Kate will be sworn in on 3 June 2026 and will sit in the Common Law Division.
Kate was called to the Bar in 2002 and appointed Senior Counsel in 2016. At the Bar, she practised broadly across public and administrative law, regulatory proceedings, privacy law, disciplinary proceedings, professional liability and in inquests and inquiries.
On announcing her appointment, The Hon Michael Daley MP, Attorney General for NSW said Kate is “an outstanding lawyer with a formidable intellect and an exceptional breadth of legal experience. She brings deep expertise in public and administrative law, a strong commitment to the rule of law, and a proven capacity to deal with complex and sensitive matters.”
