ACICA publishes 2020 Arbitration Report

17 March 2021

This month the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration released its 2020 Arbitration Report. The Report presents the results and analysis of an inaugural Australian Arbitration Survey, which for the first time provides an empirical evaluation of the "extent of arbitration activity involving Australia, Australian parties, and Australian practitioners."

The report on the survey shows that arbitration is a diverse and thriving practice area in Australia which is continuing to grow into new industry sectors as an attractive and effective dispute resolution mechanism. The Report also offers extensive commentary on the current state of play, including an article by Banco Members Justin Gleeson SC and Jonathon Redwood SC (the current Vice President of ACICA) on the topic of Australia as a centre for excellence.
