Banco Chambers congratulates Ruth Higgins SC, whose appointment as the next Solicitor-General of the Commonwealth was announced yesterday.
Ruth’s appointment will commence on 8 June 2026 for a 5 year term.
Ruth was admitted to the NSW Bar in 2006 and was appointed silk in 2017. She is a leading commercial silk practising nationally in competition law, constitutional law, class actions, energy, media, corporate criminal, and corporations law. She also served as President of the NSW Bar Association (elected in 2023).
