Anais has a broad commercial litigation practice, and regularly appears in all NSW courts, the Federal Court, various regulatory bodies, and other state courts.

Anais has particular expertise in the following areas:

Competition law, where Anais has acted in a wide range of litigious matters, merger approvals, and regulatory investigations. He has been listed as a recommended junior counsel in competition law by the Doyles Guide to the Legal Profession since 2018, and as a Tier 2 Leading Junior in the 2023 Legal 500 Guide.

General commercial disputes, particularly equity, trusts, and property matters. For example, disputes relating to managed investment schemes, joint ventures, share sale agreements, real property, misleading conduct, and partnership/employment disputes. He is listed as a recommended junior counsel in commercial litigation and dispute resolution in the 2023 and 2024 Doyles Guide.

Sports law, including commercial and governance disputes on behalf of sporting organisations as well as appearing before various sporting tribunals in respect of doping and other disciplinary matters. Anais is a member of the NBL Tribunal and a member of the FIBA Appeals Panel.

Corporations and insolvency, matters arising under the Corporations Act and Bankruptcy Act, including winding up applications, statutory demands, and regulatory investigations.

Anais’ pro-bono practice includes matters relating to immigration, bankruptcy, police powers, and criminal law.

Prior to commencing at the Bar in 2012, Anais was a solicitor in Sydney (Mallesons Stephen Jacques) and London (Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP).
