Regulatory Proceedings

Regulatory investigations and actions are a prominent feature of the modern Australian corporate and legal landscape.

Banco barristers have been at the forefront, with Banco counsel teams advising regulators and many of Australia’s largest and most prominent companies in high profile and complex regulatory proceedings and investigations, including for example Austrac’s investigation of Westpac. Banco barristers are also routinely retained to conduct examinations or appear for examinees in examinations conducted by regulators such as s19 examinations by ASIC or s155 examinations by the ACCC.
